Pumpkins

After painting, washing, and drawing on our pumpkins we finally opened them. We explored the pumpkin guts and seeds. We worked to see much we could fill measuring cups with the seeds.

Afterwards we washed the seeds and practiced counting them.

After a few days we discovered that pumpkins can get pretty smelly. We took the pumpkins down to Chef James to put in the compost.

Watercolors

Watercolors are a wonderful activity for preschoolers to learn about sequencing. We practiced, "Water, paint, paper."

We explored what happens if you add less or more water to the colors.

Welcome to Mrs. McCoy's classroom!

To begin the year, we have been exploring primary colors. We have been reading "Mouse Paint" by Ellen Stoll Walsh.

We painted large white pieces of paper red.

Then we explored mixing red and blue.
Then we mixed red and yellow.

It has been so fun to explore all the colors we can make with just red, blue, and yellow!
